AutoIt is a BASIC-like scripting language designed for automating the Windows GUI and general scripting. It uses a combination of simulated keystrokes, mouse movement and window/control manipulation in order to automate tasks or perform user interface testing.
Users new to the program are encouraged to read an introduction (thanks guinness.)
Note: the outdated (from 2012) AutoIt Portable allows you to create a portable environment of SciTE4AutoIt3 and AutoIt together, as well as cleaning AppData and opening the program editor with sample scripts (also thanks to guinness).
A 64 bit version is available (within the folder).

Runs on: | WinXP / Vista / Win7 / Win8 / Win10 / Win11 |
Writes settings to: | Application folder |
Stealth: ? | No. Every time one compiles a script (at least through SciTE=>Tools=>Build) it creates the folder "%LocalAppData%\AutoIt v3\" (specifically "%LocalAppData%\AutoIt v3\Aut2exe") for temp files. But since the files are temporary (only existing during compilation) the folder is at least usually empty. See bug report. |

I downloaded this and the linked portable SciTE4AutoIt3. I put the latter into a subdirectory of this (named SciTE4AutoIt3), and when I run `AutoIt3.exe HelloWorld.au3` from the AutoIt directory, I get a pop-up "It Appears AutoIt Portable was unable to load the SciTEGlobal.properties". How do I configure things? |
RClipStep is a clipboard manager emphasizing ease of use with a simple approach to cycling through stored clipboard items: when you paste Ctrl-V to paste, you can hold Ctrl and press V / C repeatedly to browse backward / forward through the clipboard entries.
The program also features multiple queues and can store clips to disk, convert clips to plain text, convert to upper/lower case, and paste clips into programs that don't use clipboard like window console (cmd.exe).
A 64-bit version is available (within the folder). Written in AutoIt

Except Clipjump 64 bit version went AWOL, contrary to RClipStep -- and, BTW, RClipStep appearance preceded Clipjump, at least here at TPFC...

Isn't creating an installer counter-productive to portable freeware?

@SYN: Well, AntiVir isn't portable anyway. :( If you want to begin using AntiVir, you have to either use the official installer or create a customized one by using this app. |
Minime is a tool that allows you to minimize applications to the system tray using a customizable hotkey (by default CTRL+ALT+Z). What makes this tool somewhat unique is that it keeps your system tray clean by minimizing all applications into a single tray icon. Minime-ized applications do not appear in the Alt+Tab menu.
Functional in 64-bit. Written using AutoIt.

If the icon disappears (this *occasionally* happens when Explorer acts up in Win7x64) don't run Task Manager and End Task. Your hidden windows will not return. The trick is to RE-RUN Minime and, when prompted, click "OK".

I see that many people use this to declutter their desktop, but I like to use on my work computer when I'm plying my game and I don't want my boss to see it ;-) |
