IntelBurnTest v2.54

Specular on 15 Nov 2018
  • 6MB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 20 Jul 2012
  • Suggested by Specular

IntelBurnTest allows CPU benchmarking and stability tests under a heavy load. The program is commonly used by the overclocking community to measure CPU temperature when used in conjunction with a separate temperature monitoring program.

NOTE: The program will stress the CPU, memory, and north bridge, meaning the machine will run unusually hot. Make sure your PC is properly cooled and ventilated before use. Additionally, setting the "times to run" past 20 doesn't provide better results.

The program is a front-end for the CPU stress testing utility Intel Linpack.

It's not mentioned but it requires admin rights to install a driver. Does it remove the driver on system reboot? I don't know, I couldn't find out very much information besides "there's no installation required". The developer proclaims "It's so simple to use, you don't need documentation." LOL. So much for that.

Last but not least GPU-Z and CPU-Z just share similar names, they are developed independently afaik.

It's not stealth. Where the files or regs stored?

DOSBox emulates an Intel x86 PC, complete with sound, graphics, mouse, modem etc. that are necessary for running many old DOS programs and games incompatible with any modern OS.

Smurf, that looks sweet, if it is portable I suggest this be added to database. (possibly as a replacement?)

There's a note:
D-Fend Reloaded may be installed in a portable operation mode (for USB-Sticks etc.).

My eyes lit up when I read that.

I have updated the extraction instructions. Chris Morgan had pointed out that DOSBox is not portable if launched without any command-line switches.

Thanks Chris. :)

Real Temp v3.70

lwc on 7 Aug 2021
  • 721KB (uncompressed)
  • Released on 16 Jan 2012
  • Suggested by guinness

Real Temp is a monitoring program designed to see the temperature of all Intel "Core" processors including Core 1, 2, i3, i5, and i7 processors. Each core has a digital thermal sensor (DTS) that reports data relative to the safe maximum operating temperature, known as "TjMax". As your CPU heats up, your "Distance to TjMax" will decrease.

As these processors will start to throttle or slow down as they approach their maximum temperature, it's possible to have a computer that slows down dramatically. To increase speed and reliability, a good TjMax distance is ideal.

The program also supports full logging, temperature alarms and shutdown, and the ability to calibrate for each core of your CPU.

  • Support for Sandy Bridge CPUs.
  • VID based power consumption estimates for the newer CPUs.
  • Improved log file formatting.
  • Added a single system tray icon that reports the maximum core temperature.
  • RealTemp GT updated for the 6 core Sandy Bridge E CPUs.
  • i7 Turbo GT 1.30 multiplier monitoring tool.

Have been using this since version 3.00. Works perfectly with x64.
