Miranda NG is a multi-protocol instant messaging client supporting most common protocols by default including Facebook, IRC, Jabber XMPP, MinecraftDynmap, Omegle, Sametime, SkypeWeb, Steam, Tox, Twitter, and more. Additional protocols are also available, as well as plugins and languages via "Main menu > Available Components list" (see online list).
Note: The program started as a code fork of Miranda IM. Though the latter is no longer maintained, a FAQ about the original differences is available, alongside a migration guide.
Alternatively, Miranda NG Portable is also available.

smaragdus: My understanding is that they include all the popular plugins inside the distro. This is because plugin fragmentation and version issues were part of the reason for the Miranda NG code fork.

I really didn't like not being able to hit "enter" and have the message send. You can configure this behavior under options - Message sessions - General tab - Sending messages - checkbox "Send message on 'Enter'" |

Miranda IM is an extensible, customizable instant messenger client supporting Facebook, Gadu-Gadu, Jabber, ICQ, IRC, MSN, Yahoo and more. The program can support more protocols via an extended plugin system to include Netsend, IAX, Tlen etc. and an add-on system can add other features such as skins, an RSS feed reader, weather alert, world clock, secure messaging etc.
Note: it is no longer maintained, but its fork Miranda NG can be used instead.
Alternatively, Miranda IM Portable is another portable version.

IMPasswordDecryptor is able to instantly recover stored passwords from most popular instant messengers. Functional on Google Talk, MSN Messenger, AIM, Digsby, Trillian, Pidgin, Miranda, Mebo, and more.
Note:
- The program only works if the user opts to save or remember the password so that the username and password are stored on the system. Rest assured though most messengers have an auto-login feature that requires the user account information including the saved password for subsequent logins.
- The program later (in v3.0) changed its name to Messenger Password Decryptor), but the main website download link has switched to an encrypted installer instead of a ZIP there, thus linking to Softpedia.

Most of the messengers have the auto-login feature which requires the user account information including password to be saved for subsequent logins. If user opts to save or remember the password then the username and password are stored on the system in proprietary format. |
