Security warning for PopMan
Using PopMan as portable makes it possible to put it on a USB flash drive and check your mail anywhere. But if you lose the flash drive, or if someone steals it, there is no protection for your mail accounts. The password that is supposed to block illegal opening of PopMan is depending of only two l...

Re: gpg4usb
More a question than a reply: https://securityinabox.org/en/gpg4usb_portable says: "The first key is known as the private key. It is protected by a password or passphrase, guarded and never shared with anyone." But that is not completely true. If I have GPG4USB on the USB stick, and someon...

Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
Ruby and guinness , I was just curious. We don't have any intruders, maybe because we have no nabors within reach from the network:-) But if I search for networks from my smart phone (again just curious), when visiting our nearest towns, I always find an astonishing amount of open networks. But if ...

Re: SoftPerfect WiFi Guard
Maybe a silly question, but if I block an intruder, what happens the next time when he tries to connect. Wouldn't he get a new IP that isn't blocked?

Re: A simple tool to easily show/hide system files?
Hifito 1.3 seems to do the trick, but I also found Toggle show hidden files (http://showhiddenfiles.sourceforge.net/) that seems to do the same as Hifito (except that it can't toggle the file extensions). But I don't understand what "Toggle show hidden files" is doing, or how. I choose a h...

WinScan2PDF
allclownsareevil wrote a comment that made me search for jpg files saved by WinScan2PDF. Very deeply buried in "C:\Users\u\Lokala inställningar\Programdata\Programdata\Programdata\Programdata\Programdata\Programdata\Programdata\Programdata\Programdata\Programdata\Temp\" I found ~tmp~winsc...

Re: Video To Video
I just tried this out and I am confused by the logic of this program!! I have 4 parts of a video numbered 1 to 4 and tried to join them together as one. I selected them in my file manager in the order 1,2,3,4. This program joined them but put the number 4 segment at the start - in this sequence: 4,...

Re: Emsisoft Emergency Kit
Sorry! I searched for Emsisoft but didn't see that link. But - then it was version 1 beta, now it is version 3.
But nothing in the registry. For Emsisoft Anti-Malware and Online Armor (Emsisoft Internet Security Pack, installed), yes, but not the Emergency Kit.

Re: Cheez - image cataloging tool
Yes, XnView is OK, but what about the dependencies (MSVCR71.DLL and MSVCP71.DLL)? And I can't use IPTC data on PNG, BMP or GIF.
