Yes I saw that too and I am glad redllar wanted to achieve something similar, although I am sad to see it never came to fruition. Still if you look at the date I started this thread and at the date the JPELoader was compiled you'll easily see that this was long before the "-PStart Tutorial"...

Sorry my mistake, maybe I was not clear enough about what JPELoader is. In this thread http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=2998 the code for ThinLoader was given out and I modified it slightly so that it would work better with JPE, but it is far from a standalone app. My intention...

Thanks, did not know about portable Sandboxie until now. I wonder if it needs admin privileges to work and if it truly is stealth, I guess I will have to try it out, but if you have any experience then please share, I would really appreciate it. Now the reasons I wanted to make a sanbox-like JaunteP...

It seems JauntePE does not pass parameters if they are enclosed in quotes, on the other hand it works fine with passing spaces in parameters without the quotes.

I hope people will post which CLSID keys they found to be creating problems with JauntePE and Vista. That way we will not need to have duplicate each others work.

List of registry keys that might be excluded.

I have tried to compile a list of registry keys that usually does not have to do with making an application portable. I do not know if this is a good idea, but I am thinking of making an optimized version of Normal2.ini (Normal3.ini :P). Any suggestions? 1=HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SessionInformation 2=HKEY...

Sorry for having misinterpeted what you meant crownixx, but I am happy you cleared it up, if only for nothing else then for my understanding. I will also look into the CLSID keys you were talking about, but m^(2)'s idea looks good. If only we could do it progmatically then the workload would be less...

Thanks for clearing that up, well then I think I will take your advice and use Normal2.ini. To think it was always that easy :)

Great, I didn't really believe there was a way to solve this with JauntePE, although I am a bit confused because I have read the JauntePE help file several times (which I always do before posting) and I could not remember seeing something that would redirect %ALLUSERSPROFILE% so when I looked for th...

Help with All Users

I have an application that uses files saved in %ALLUSERSPROFILE%\Database\Dated\ and I would like to make this application portable by using JauntePE. Now I am aware this might not be possible since JauntePE is selective of what it redirects of folders, but if it is I would really like some help to ...

Good point, I had not thought about that. The application I tested with the workaround of not hooking "RegOpenKeyExW" was an ANSI application. I guess it might be possible that you have to not hook "RegOpenKeyExA" instead if your application is an Unicode application.

Thanks that was what I was looking for, a configuration example of what would be the closes thing to a sandbox and now that I know Normal2.ini is already as close as possible to a sandbox I can use it to build upon and make a generic configuration file I can use as a starting point. To be honest I a...

Great work crownixx, so far you are the only one to report about issues found on the new JauntePE version and Vista. I hope you don't mind but I have taken your findings and made a new thread made specifically for JauntePE 0.3.0 because this one was a bit confusing when trying to find which JauntePE...

JauntePE 0.3.0 workarounds for Vista compatibility issues

Although JauntePE was not made for Vista it still works with the exception of a couple of issues. Thats why I would like to see all Vista related issues encountered with JauntePE 0.3.0 posted here so we can compile a list of Vista issues and workarounds found for those issues. So far only crownixx h...
