Re: Tiny PIM (Personal Information Manager)
Sill does not work for me. I am on Windows 11. Tried different browser, Chrome, Firefox, Windows Edge — always the same error: I got an error when visiting www.ssuitesoft.com/clevernote.htm. Error code: 1020 Ray ID: 780af3155da3c296 Country: DE Data center: vie02 IP: 93.200.153.6 Timestamp: 2022-12-...

Re: Betterbird - email client
That did the trick. Works indeed, as easy as that. Thanks! Much appreciated.freakazoid wrote: ↑Fri May 27, 2022 3:22 pm Yeah, you can delete whichever version you want to delete and the launcher should be able to detect it. If you are strapped for RAM, you can remove the x64 version; I usually remove the x64 one personally.

Re: Betterbird - email client
Thunderbird Portable includes both x86 and x64 versions, which would explain the bump in filesize. Of course, you are right **slapping forehead**, that explains it. I wonder if I could simply delete the 32-folder or whether this might cause problems with the PortableApps host. Guess I'll just give ...

Re: Betterbird - email client
I've been using Thunderbird for many years without issue, the suggestion that the program is somehow bug ridden seems odd I fully agree. And yet I decided to try it out. So far, there seems to be no difference to Thunderbird. Same features, but for some reason it only takes up 240 MB (empty, withou...

Re: JPEGView
Good to hear that it will be continued. JPEGView has been my default viewer for many years. Very customizable, once you find your way around in the ini- and Keymap files. Amazing speed and thanks to %exepath% it allows portable paths to other tools (Faststone to sort out, JpgIlluminator to edit, etc...

Re: WordCount
Worry no more... Check a couple of the Unix tools packages therein which conveniently include WC , among scores of other stand-alone nifty tools, all ported to Win32 PE executables. Enjoy ! 8) Thank you. Now it works nicely. Set up my custom call to the tinyKit standalone wc and it's awesome...

Re: WriteMonkey - minimalist text editor
WriteMonkey has the best typing sounds, imo. Markup Export is another feature worth checking out. You can set up any number of CSS templates to output your work for proofreading, getting a fresh perspective on the text layout or trying different formatting options. Personally, I favor the distractio...

Would have been nice to get it to work, but it seems to be UNIX only.

May (or not?) fit the bill: Stefan Trost's Word Creator : https://www.sttmedia.com/wordcreator. Interesting. After playing around with it for a while, I find it quite useful. Thanks. :D In a similar vein: https://sites.google.com/site/wordstatix/ When it comes to word counting alone, no concordance...

Thanks a ton for pointing out the drawbacks. You saved me a lot of time. Made it a habit to always check here first before downloading anything that seems iffy and not really convincing to me.
Btw, I like your new profile flag. Thumbs up for showing solidarity with Ukraine.

Thanks for sharing this little gem. I like the simplicity of it.
Despite its age it is easy to control on HD screens, no tiny dialogs to cope with, which really sets it apart from other veterans.

Re: Atlantis Word Processor [not portable]
It's portable. But it needs to be installed to a portable device: http://www.atlantiswordprocessor.com/en/help/flash_drives.htm You obviously have not tried it out. Here's talking from experience (I naively believed their portability claims and bought a license some time ago): 'Portable' mode (or t...

Interesting program. Recording keystrokes is much easier this way than doing it manually via AutoHotkey or other half-automated tools.
