Re: Looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices
The freer the better, in general. That's why I wasn't initially thinking about Google Keep. I went with sth that syncs with MS Sticky Notes because it is installed anyway and software choice is limited on my Surface Go 2 in S mode. I know I could go for MS To do, but then again it might not be as pl...

Yes, might be worth testing, thanks.

Re: Looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices
Warpinator also seems too complex for what I was initially looking for. Update: I have tried out GoTodo because it has apps and browser extension for all kinds of platforms, but it was too bloated and unstraightforward for my needs. I'm afraid this will be the case with Simplenote and Standard Notes...

Re: Signal - cross-platform secure messaging (64-bit only)
Concerning Telegram and Signal: In my country, Telegram has a reputation for hosting groups of conspiracy theorists and right-wing activists, whereas Signal (alongside Threema) has become a welcome alternative messenger for people who want to avoid WhatsApp (for fear of what happens to their data wi...

Looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices
Dear all, I'm looking for a simple way to sync notes between devices like my Samsung Galaxy 8 and my Surface Go 2 in Windows S Mode. I found an app on Google Play Store (Floaty) that claims to sync with MS Sticky Notes, but it seems totally buggy and does not really work. If it did, it would be perf...

Re: PolyEdit Lite - Tiny Word Processor
I would be a little concerned that the last (beta) version dates back to 2010, but that may be subject to individual needs and uses.

Re: Everyone, drop the freeware you use daily down below!
Firefox and Thunderbird have become the only portable applications I use every day. Digital transformation hit my job hard. So I am ever more forced to use mobile devices running Android or Windows S that rely on their own app stores, or I have to use web services. From time to time, I use foobar200...

Re: StarOffice (LibreOffice and OpenOffice) variants
I mostly use MS Office at home. I still prefer its interface and usability even though I am not a power user by far. Mostly Libre Office at work (cheaper for the boss, which is OK for me), sometimes OpenOffice at work (on some older machines that the admin didn't update...), sometimes our cloud-base...

Re: Xinorbis - powerful hard disk analyser
The entry was updated to v8.2.1, but the website says v8.1.13 as of June 2019 and the download page says v8.1.10 as of January 2019. What's correct?

Re: LibreOffice Portable
NeoOffice isn't free and it's for MacOS. The latest version is called 2017, but they quite regularly seem to fix bugs and offer patches.

I also posted this in the comments section of the entry, it is concering security aspects mentioned above (link seems dead): It seems possible to make the program automatically delete temporary image files from scans, moreover it seems possible to change the default location of those files from AppD...

Re: Thunderbird news
Thanks for replying, John. I also posted in your forums, hope that's OK. I am using v60.8.0 on Win10 1903, I only use ThunderbirdPortable.exe and I have disabled the internal updater. I always manually update (install over) with the PA.com release. Roaming\Pending Pings is empty, but in Roaming\Thun...
