Your favorite among the most prolific

#1 Post by lautrepay »

Nir Sofer (NirSoft @ http://www.nirsoft.net/), Nenad Hrg (SoftwareOK @ http://www.softwareok.com/) and Jody Holmes (Skwire Empire @ http://skwire.dcmembers.com/fp/) have an enormous amount of entries in the database.
But, in your opinion... which of these prolific authors develops the most useful or ingenious applications?
"None" is also an acceptable answer.

I'd say Nir because I don't use any of the other author's programs.
is it stealth? ;)

Nirsoft. The question should be "who's the second" instead.

I use both Nirsoft and Skwire applications but it's hard to rate them on usefulness as they cater to different needs. I like the fact that almost all of Skwire's applications are the result of forum requests. Also he is way more responsive to feature requests and bug fixes.

I hate them all! Because of them (and others alike) I got more addicted to the PC than ever before!

Good call.

On a related note, are there any really prolific authors on the site? Or, said another way, who among the folks we have who release under an open license releases the most?

Mozilla.
Now I don't use any NirSoft software and overall I used it just a few times in my life. I don't know why do people like it so much because while I recognise that broadly defined quality is high, usefulness doesn't match it IMO.

I share the opinion of m^(2) about Nir Sofer's applications.
So for me it would be:
1) Nenad Hrg
2) Jody Holmes
3) Nir Sofer

Surely guinness, followed by Lupo perhaps...
Apart from them I only remember two authors with two open source projects each in the database: Florian Balmer (Notepad2 and MetaPath) and Andrey Gruber (PNotes and ATPad). None with three projects.

So do I. And is something that begins to take away my time, time which should be devoted to other things.
