portable gui for commandline programs

#1 Post by donald »

I remember a GUI for command line applications, it was a generic gui which could have commands assigned to configurable buttons. The program icon could even be changed etc.

Several searches of TPFC have failed to find the thread.

If anyone can remember the program, find the thread, or find a portable gui for command line applications please post a reply.

Oh this is better than the one that I wrote for myself! Thank you!

On the other hand, can't seem to find where it save the settings. Must be the registry than because it obviously saved the screen output.

TheGUI may (or not..) be relevant here: http://aluigi.altervista.org/mytoolz.htm#thegui.

(Earliest mention of TheGUI at TPFC posted by user JohnW at http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... php?t=5531, referring an even earlier mention by currently nonexistent user Aleph -- a previous avatar of AlephX?)

Odd I ran it a couple times but never see that file being generated. So that means you have to make it yourself. Thanks!

@Midas
Wow that one looks really old and it needs GTK to be installed.
