GridPlayer (Multi-Video Player)

#1 Post by porta2 »

Hi all,

Ever since I came across the Awesome Video Player (viewtopic.php?f=20&t=22733&p=88467&hili ... yer#p79627 ), occasionally every few months I would try to search for a replacement. It been over 3 years now based on the date (https://www.videohelp.com/software/AVPl ... iews#14273 ) and finally it is finally here.

And it is call GridPlayer! I'm looking forward to it development and thought "I want to bring more attention to this video players", hopefully with more people doing Pull Request or people who been looking for a player that can do this.

Firstly I'm not the creator of this software; Long story short occasionally I try to find a video player that can play multi-video at a time and by luck today found one that can do just that. It seem like it is recently been created and more importantly it is Open Source and it is Portable and multi-platform (Windows, Linux & MAC)

Anyway here is the links and a copy/paste of it description:

But why? Is it like HamMultiPlayer, used for video editors who want to look at a bunch of different video files?

I used HAM too, but HAM is more for what you say, Video Editor or management, personally I don't like it for video watching. I did email the creator of HAM one time for a feature request.

As for the use of multi-video I use it to; watch multiple angle, watch multi version, 'split screen', etc.

Of course I can just open multiple instance of video player like MPC-HC, VLC, etc but it more difficult to manage that it like that and always wanted to find an Awesome Video replacement and finally found it. Considering there is a community of people on this forum that use Awesome/HAM, hopefully they would be interested in finding this.
