"Farr" Browser Launcher

#1 Post by joby_toss »

FarrBrowserLauncher is an application that allows you to make web searches in the current opened browser.

It works with every app that accepts a custom default browser, like Find and Run Robot, Executor, mIRC, etc.

Code: Select all

c:\pathto\Farr_Browser_Launcher2.exe <url>
The logic behind it is simple: if your default browser is IE for example, but you currently work in FF (the only opened browser), when you start a web search in FARR you don't have to wait for IE to open, the search just takes place in FF (saving also system resources). Same for Opera, Chrome etc., or their portable versions.

There are 2 versions available, but I'd recommend version 2 as it supports 4 browsers in order of preference.
Edit the .ini file (browsers paths) to make it compatible with your system.

It is written in AutoHotkey (so it's portable by itself) by lanux128 from DonationCoder forums.

A MUST HAVE tool for me, and I believe for others, too!

Cheers!

Edit: 2010.06.24 - FBL has been updated!
