Datamarck (HD benchmarking)

#1 Post by Midas »

EDIT: Datamarck site is dead, so here's a working link -- http://www.softpedia.com/progScreenshot ... 93372.html...

I'm looking into USB drives benchmarking right now and found this, which I believe isn't listed here at TPFC, so I'm submitting it for forum consideration...

The collected performance data can be shared and compared with the online stored benchmark database.

The program will measure the read performance (in MB/s) and the access seek times (in ms) of hard drives, flash sticks or any other external storage device. The measured data can be uploaded from the software and compared to the benchmark database [http://www.datamarck.com/benchmarks].

Also, there are a few applications in the db that can help in performing benchmark tests:

CrystalDiskMark

HD_Speed

HD Tune

Oh... Check Flash is handy too.

Edit: added Check Flash

Thanks, I did search the net and TPFC, but this was new to me -- I was aware of the others. :D

I'm considering opening a thread at the "Portable Hardware" sub-forum concerning this...
