MassTube - video downloader

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

MassTube - video downloader

#1 Post by loin2kolpotoru »

A handy software utility that you can rely on to easily download online videos from YouTube after simply typing or pasting the URL of the clip you want.

Download Link -
http://www.softpedia.com/dyn-postdownlo ... 61&t=0&i=1

To make it portable without writing in registry -
Extract using Universal Extractor then open notepad and write following -

[General]
UbicacionData=App

Save it as Ini.dat inside the application folder and run MassTube.exe.

First a general point ...
The Home Site is ...
http://www.havysoft.cl/

For the poster @loin2kolpotoru
Do you know if Icon Extractor (another of Havy's programs) can be made portable?

Anyway, thanks for the post; I am interested in any youtube downloaders because of the current youtube problems.

@JohnW: don't you mean InnoExtractor? (http://www.havysoft.cl/innoextractor.html; also MassTube has its own domain and homepage at http://www.masstube.cl/)

An interesting alternative to (Uni)Extractor? InnoExtractor current version (v4.4.5.137) download: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Compressio ... ctor.shtml.

@JohnW if you are asking about InnoExtractor i think the above mentioned process should also work for InnoExtractor.

First of all - Sorry for my mistake. Of course I meant InnoExtractor! Doh!!

I'll try the same technique and hope for the best

Just in passing how did you find out the technique; I couldn't see anything on the Home Site

There are lots of things on the www which are not written anywhere or documented, just like 'Easter eggs" if u know what i mean. u have to just research & use trial & error method to find out what u r looking for.

Another thing i should mention is the MassTube 11.6.1.265 is better then the latest MassTube 12 alpha version because it gives the direct download links to the videos which you can download with you favorite external download manager where the alpha builds doesn't allow this you have to download inside the MassTube and MassTube 11.6.1.265 is just around 1 mb which is very easy to carry in pendrive and latest alpha builds are more then 10 mb.

I tested it with standard UniExtract and it works fine.

Videos are saved to /My Documents/Mass Tube by default.

v. 12.8.3.295 is out ... works well, supports drag-and-drop, high quality M4A (audio) downloads, but still doesn't do batch downloads (like the word "Mass" in the title implies). For that I think TEncoder or gPodder are ideal.

MassTube is now nagware on audio downloads with a 30 second donation request screen: http://i.imgur.com/RJGvxtw.png ... doesn't appear to do this for any of the videos.

---

Edit 1: ... video settings that I use. Some of the advanced settings and other "premium" options are limited.

- Remove wait time for downloads in MP4 1080p and M4A 128k (audio).
- Enable downloads in MP4 2160p and 1440p.
- Enable audio conversions to MP3 128k, 160k, 192k, 256k and 320k.

That essentially makes this "liteware", though to be fair they're only asking for $3.

---

Edit 2: Alternative: 3D Youtube Downloader does everything this does and more without the nag stuff.

Hi, thanks for the nice work here. Can you also make portable version for MassFaces application of the same author? http://www.havysoft.cl/
MassFaces is a powerful and innovative Facebook application never seen before, which allows you to download and recover to your PC a single video or entire video album in FLV and MP4 formats and Standard and High definition resolutions from your Facebook account, from Facebook friends, from Facebook public profiles/pages and more. Also, you can perform Facebook video search through Google engine to get new video content from the social network.

This application I like me and its very useful. Download: http://www.softpedia.com/get/Internet/D ... aces.shtml

We actually didn't do anything apart from testing. The main version just happened to be portable.

Is MassFaces nagware/liteware too?
