Synopsis
Multimedia is an audio player focused on the quality of the sound reproduction. It is almost as good as the well known “Winamp” player. However it runs faster because it takes less memory and CPU. The main goal when starting this project was to make this player very light with many features & good audio quality.

  • Sonique 1.x, Winamp, BassBox WMP visual plugins.
  • Input and DSP plugins.
  • ID3v1&2, OGG, WAV, WMA and Modules tags.

Portability
Multimedia Player seems to be portable and stealth.
  • Download the installer (multimedia player setup.zip).
  • Extract it to a folder of your choice.
  • Run the installer (multimedia player setup.exe) and install to a folder of your choice.
  • Copy the installation folder to a location of your choice.
  • Uninstall the program.
  • Delete Uninstall.exe.
  • Run Multimedia.exe.
Data and ettings are saved inside program folder in INI files (config.ini, eqpreset.ini, mmfavoriteurls.ini) and MPL files (Medialib.mpl, Playlist.mpl).

License
Multimedia Player is closed source freeware.

Note
I was unable to extract the installer (I do not know what kind of installer is that and whether it is possible to be extracted).
Multimedia Player lacks support of Cue sheets and TAK files.
Multimedia Player is very light- on my machine it uses about 4 MB of RAM.
Multimedia Player crashed several times at start.

Looks like a nice program but I wish the author had picked a different name. It's like naming a calculator or file search program "Calculator" or "File Search".

You are right. There are even worse examples, what about this Player:

What amazes me besides the name is the fact that this Player is not free.
About Multimedia Player- I contacted the developer about the crashes and about the triviality of the name but I haven't got any response yet.

This program was updated back in August back to version 2 and there are some really impressive items on this list
https://www.softpedia.com/progChangelog ... 18781.html
(Added) Video support.
(Added) DVD + subtitle support.
(Added) Glows and animation to themes.
(Added) Many new icons: debug, shuffle, add to favorite, fullscreen, mini-player, hide, presets, search, etc…
(Added) Visual preview of the theme selection.
(Added) Spectrogram visualization.
---

Also, I never replied to smaragdus' post above ...

This will probably live on as my favorite bad program name. I'd say "Battle Encoder Shirase," which is neither an encoder nor a game should compete, but I like it.

Yeah 4 years later, it looks like he was unmoved.

EDIT: My own feeling was that this program is basically a Winamp clone by someone who liked some parts of Winamp but not others. I'm a little too attached to Foobar to get deep into this, but it's still a very feature-rich player.
