nice
though its almost like running portable virtualbox with ubuntu installed on it
i like this except reason to use ubuntu is to use less resources than windows... and this uses both windows + emulator so ubuntu isnt any faster :S
edit: just tried it, not bad but its almost 2gb extracted :S... not much room on a flash drive for anything else lol

This uses coLinux to allow you to run Ubuntu in Windows. Although appsuser suggested it be placed in the category of emulators, it does not use virtualization like QEMU, VirtualBox, or VMWare:

It's really cool, but you do miss out on some of the best features of running Linux instead of Windows (security, Compiz, etc.).
It's differs from a liveCD in that you don't have to be able to reboot the machine in order to run it (though I don't know if you need admin rights). It's (probably) less resource-hungry than an emulator, and it's definitely snappier on my Vista machine than running in QEMU.AndLinux wrote:coLinux is a port of the Linux kernel to Windows. Although this technology is a bit like running Linux in a virtual machine, coLinux differs itself by being more of a merger of Windows and the Linux kernel and not an emulated PC, making it more efficient.
