So many Radio Stations with VLC (almost like Screamer)

#1 Post by Simon.T »

Streaming T.V:
http://wwitv.com/
http://beelinetv.com/

Streaming Radio:
http://radio-locator.com/
http://shoutcast.com/

So I'd like to talk about SHOUTcast:

While I was searching for a solution to this problem, I found this page (Control VLC via a browser):

Enter this address: http://127.0.0.1:8080/ and you'll be able to control VLC from your browser (I tested it only on Firefox):

You'll prolly see a few NEW buttons like this magnifying glass Image

Hover your cursor over this glass and you'll see a popup menu, choose Shoutcast radio listings:

Now vlc will draw a lot of radio stations (by category) directly from SHOUTcast:

In the future version 9... (DO NOT DOWNLOAD - IT IS VERY UNSTABLE - YOUR PC WILL CRASH - IT IS A VERY BIG RISK TO TEST IT IMHO (Thanks!))
http://nightlies.videolan.org/
http://nightlies.videolan.org/build/win32/latest/

you'll get the list from the following menu: though vlc9 can't play it for some reason?!? (nah! they'll fix it in the future )

That was a one more reason (of many others) why Linux in the future :D)
