Anyone know of any alternatives to the system monitoring utilities Statbar or winbar? I read on the Winbar forum that it doesn't actually store it's settings in the registry but this could have been for an older version. To be honest, I've never bothered to use Winbar because I actually prefer Statbar. However, I am fairly certain that Statbar does use the registry to store settings. Both programs are written in Visual Basic, which I'm not so fond of.
It isn't an essential program for me but a nice program to have. I have found various other portable programs that can perform certain tasks of these toolbar monitor apps but not really any complete alternatives. As an example I use Pstart as a launcher, I can use Neutron for time syncronization and other tools like SIW to monitor memory and network usage. Having said that, it isn't really nice to have all these different applications open at once and that is why a toolbar program like Statbar and Winbar is nice to have.
If anyone has any alternatives, I'd love to hear about them.
