Re: how about mplayer ww?
i tried to add it to the database a while ago, but i still don't see it, so i guess i don't have the rights(?) yet, so, please, if someone else wants, he may submit this.
Re: how about mplayer ww?
You added it! But it won't be in the viewable database until it has received 10 points (number on the right side.)
To view all entries, in the search box type [@] and click 'Search' OR [@] NAME OF APPLICATION e.g. [@] MPLayer

Is it officially fully portable?

I guess so.Lupo73 wrote:Is it officially fully portable?
All the .ini files are in the right place from the beginning, nothing is written outside its own folder and no unusual registry keys!
And it is distributed as an archive.
The "QuickTime X for DirectX" skin is outrageous!

The filesize is pretty decent as well compared to VLC and other MPlayer-based players.
is it stealth?
Re: how about mplayer ww?
Updates: SVN-r32510 is available
Re: how about mplayer ww?
This has got to be one of the better media players out there. Decent size (compared to others) with some pretty niffy features.
Moved on from MPC HC for this baby!

Re: how about mplayer ww?
Not completely stealth. When playing a DVD with CSS protection, saves DVD data in %userprofile%/.dvdcss/.
is it stealth?
Re: how about mplayer ww?
My %userprofile%/.dvdcss/ had many folders inside and I've been wondering which program was doing thatWhen playing a DVD with CSS protection, saves DVD data in %userprofile%/.dvdcss/.
But here's an odd thing... I quite certain I haven't played any DVDs with CSS protection with Mplayer WW. Played non-protected DVDs yes, Ripped yes, but no play.
So can someone else confirm freakazoid's comment? Thanks!
*EDIT*
Just did a quick test and it's not just DVDs with CSS... it's any DVD! Bummer!
*EDIT II*
Seems like it's not just Mplayer WW that does this. I'm reading that VLC and some ripping programs also leave a similar folder behind.

If you use VLC Portable by portableapps.com, you don't have to worry about this.
The folder Mplayer generates resides in %userprofile% and the folder is ".dvdcss" not "dvdcss" like VLC.

thank you freakazoid for the useful info.
for me, it's stealthy enough.
i just make a note of the folder created.
i am making a switch to this, no more CyberLink!
Re: how about mplayer ww?
The current version SVN-r33538 seems to have broken DVD playback from disc or folder (Win 7 64bit).
There's some type of horizontal flicker; maybe a 3:2 pulldown issue or something.
Has anyone else experienced this?
I rolled back to SVN-r33064 and it's working again.
There's still problems with DVDNav so I have to disable it - [ Option > Preferences > Player > No DVD Menu Support ]
I think I may roll back to SVN-r32800 as I remember this version being stable (at least on Vista 32bit).
