Screamer Radio (DotNET stream player)

#1 Post by AlephX »

Hi!
Few days ago Screamer Radio was upgraded to a Beta version, which the Author´s page describes as "still under development".

Anyway it seems to have added a full unicode support to the app:

To check the available DLs:

The stable version in the Database:

Screamer Radio at version 0.9 (Requires .NET Framework 4.5), Download Page.

Direct Download Links:

Screamer Radio version 0.9:
Screamer Radio 0.9 installer

Screamer Radio version 0.4.4
Screamer Radio 0.4.4 installer
Screamer Radio 0.4.4 archive

I have not tested the .NET monstrosity for portability.

Screamer Radio v1.0 is not stealth. It saves a log file in AppData, like many other .Net apps.

Portable Screamer Radio v0.44 still available for download from the homepage, BTW.

@webfork: time to remove version info from OP, then. Thanks. :)

Not official (it looks like something extracted from the download), but there's a changelog at www.videohelp.com /software/Screamer-Radio/version-history...

Having developed Screamer Radio for over 20 years in my spare time, it has always been a labor of love rather than a profit-making endeavor. Thus the application has always been free, but has been supported by ad revenue which has unfortunately dwindled significantly over the years. The ad revenue no longer covers the operational costs, let alone the development efforts, so it is time to try something new.

In response, I'm launching Screamer Radio Plus. An affordable subscription that will help fund further development. While most features of Screamer Radio will remain free, Screamer Radio Plus subscribers will gain access to exclusive features, starting with the dark theme.

Looking ahead, I plan to integrate additional exclusive features into Screamer Radio Plus, such as support for third-party radio station listings. My immediate goal is to integrate RadioBrowser into the platform, which, while free to use, requires substantial development effort to support.

Note: the last version (2.8884, built using Avalonia) installation size is about 55 MB and it comes with significant performance improvements according to the author, compared to the old one (1.7265, built using WPF) at around 4,5 MB (dark theme included).
