Firefox - no longer the safer alternative to IE?

#1 Post by Simon.T »

One more way to start the year 2008, in Israel (Happy New Year!)

A hackers just exposed a Mozilla Firefox security flaw - one that makes phishing far too easy and clueless Net users far too vulnerable. Aviv Raff exposed the flaw on his website; he demonstrated how easily phishers could spoof information displayed in that very basic familiar authentication dialog...

This is what Israeli people doing on the net.. Killing each other :P

Download the video: http://hacking.org.il/demos/dr-rover1.wmv (2.98MB) (very clear!)
2nd video on YouTube (a very clumsy video, I can barely see it)

I'm still using, and will be keep using, Firefox :D Be careful though :!:

If you don't act like a stupid (no ofense :D) - giving away usernames and passwords for every dialog message - you'll see that that this isn´t (at least for me) a security lack.

As far as I can remember, I use Firefox since 1.0.2 and it's still my favourite (if not my only) browser.
Of course that I use alternatives to Firefox, like Opera, Netscape or SeaMonkey.

I finish my post with:
FIREFOX 4 EVER!!!

My A/V popped up a win32.fanboy.worm warning while browsing through the PF Forum. A/V software won't be mentioned for fear of another pop up.

Kidding aside, thanks Simon.T for the info.
