Teen Spirit (Jaangle)

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

You know the Godfather does the same thing Jaangle does...it just wont even start.
I have MusicBee downloaded will see what that's like.

I'm almost sure these apps that wont work must rely on some part of Internet Explorer or WMPlayer;
since I dont have them on my system I'd say that's what's the matter (not the programs)

In the release notes it says it's portable. You have to install it first, then in the program, under Edit - Preferences - System, you have to check the option to run it as a portable application.
Thanks taotra,
MusicBee is the one. :P

If anyone wonders, MusicBee requires .Net v2.0.

Soundbase ?
Settings and database are stored in the application directory and there is an option in the database management to change the root drive of the library.

Jaangle test

#23 Post by webfork »

My process:
  • 1. Univ extractor didn't work so I installed, copied the folder, then uninstalled.
    2. Uninstall leaves a bunch of crap behind in c:\program files\Jaangle so you've got to manually remove that.
    3. Start program
Problem: On my stripped down version of XP, it gave me the error: "cannot open create database. Aborting..."

Finally, I ran this on my main system (XP SP3) and appears to be portable (writes settings locally, no registry entries created that Jaangle seemed to be responsible for), but I'd like someone else to doublecheck before it gets added to the database.

I guess the results of this test are "Promising"
