Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier

First mentioned by user AlephX (to the best of my knowledge; see http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... php?t=1113 and hence my posting here at the Portable Freeware Discussion forum), Roadkil's Unstoppable Copier (RUC) is an essential utility available for Linux and Windows that deserves its own official TPFC forum topic (the database entry is at http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=149); here it is, then...
RUC does write a few settings to the system registry at "HKCU\Software\Roadkil", as previously discussed at http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... php?t=1114 (a yaP launcher config file is at http://pastebin.com/QCGZK8Hg).
FYI, there was another freeware backup utility, DataGrab -- which unfortunately is not being developed anymore (http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... hp?t=17721) -- that relied on RUC for a copying engine.
For some brief instructions on how to manipulate RUC's 'batch mode' configuration files, see http://www.portablefreeware.com/forums/ ... 180#p62180.
Full online help is at http://www.roadkil.net/support.php?AppI ... sionID=5.2.

Allows you to copy files from disks with problems such as bad sectors, scratches or that just give errors when reading data. The program will attempt to recover every readable piece of a file and put the pieces together. Using this method most types of files can be made useable even if some parts of the file were not recoverable in the end.
The program can be used as a daily backup system using its batch mode functions. A list of transfers can be saved to a file and then run from the command line to perform the same batch of transfers on a regular basis without having to use the GUI interface. The program supports command line parameters which allow the application to be run from schedulers or scripts so it can be fully integrated into daily server tasks.
