Exstora

#1 Post by Fluffy »

Synopsis: Exstora is a planner and organizer, with a user-friendly interface and appealing design. The planner is equally suited for daily events as well as long-term events with a calendar to help keep track. Also works well as a scratch pad for random notes, and can be password-protected.

Writes settings to: Application folder

How to extract: Download and install the application, then move all files except for uninstall.exe to a folder of your choice. Finally, uninstall the program.

License: Freeware

Requirements: Windows 2000, XP, the homepage claims that it needs 10 MB of HDD space and 64 MB of RAM though I'm quite certain this is not accurate.

Download: http://www.exstora.com/exstora_v_0.9.9b.exe (English)

Don't know about RAM requirements but the English version needs 0.3Mb of HDD space.

Exactly, possibly a few more KB's for the xml that stores settings. And I've been running this all night and the RAM usage hasn't gone above 6 MBs (actually, hasn't gone very far above 5).

Missing instructions issue:

It currently lists a way to get an INI file from the AppData folder, but I'm guessing that requires the program is installed or run first. Suggested (but probably incomplete) revised instructions:
  • Download the installer and extract to a folder of your choice.
  • Delete [NSIS].nsi and $PLUGINSDIR
  • Launch and close Exstora.exe
  • In Windows 2000 and XP, open Explorer and look in the C:\Documents and Settings\username\Application Data/Exstora
  • Move the exstora_dat.xml file into the one with Exstora.exe
  • Launch Exstora.exe
