the program is now using 99 percent of CPU sometimes. don't know when this happens...

maybe if a feed is not responding or is not updating ?

but it happens often.

version 1.3.3 also does this. I think it's a feed i added that is not responding or something.

also, could you add an option to keep the latest 200 entries or so ? and to delete anything older than "x" days ?

If you want to use NFReader on an USB stick, this would be verry time consuming. I can use a database to store hundrets of items per feed, but then the program is no longer portable. A portable DB (e.g. SQLite) is very lame when updating hundrets of entries...

The feeds are already stored in a file.

this 99 percent cpu is hapening more and more often. it's killing me...

All I wanted is to store the unread articles...

sometimes the feed is only 10 articles, and it gets updated very often.

so if you are not here, you miss the articles.

if nfreader would keep the articles for a later time, then no worries.

FeedReader already is perfect, the only problem with it is that it takes ages for it to mark items "read"

@kuihdez: try GreatNews (apologies to Gaijin). Feedreader's database is very inefficient. When I tried it out, the developer said that it could only save an absolute limit on the number of items in the database (I think it was 5,000) was necessary to ensure decent performance.

GreatNews is snappy for me with 50 feeds, saves items in a database, allows automatic cleanup of old items, and lots more.
