There is the right way - JauntePE and the wrong way - any other!
Just kidding of course...

I know of these ways:
-JauntePE
-NSIS launcher
-AutoIt launcher
-Sandbox
-Thinstall
-laptop
-beg author to change the way application works

For JauntePE usage Redllar made a very nice tutorial. More here.

Why is it funny?
These are good ways. Especially the last one.

I'm guessing he isn't expecting the author to comply

mate put in the request anyways I say. Most developers would be willing to listen (I say most because not all are). But give it a try and break a leg :P

Please excuse my English language.

Our topic:
How do I create a portable launcher?
How many ways are there and what tools are necessary?

For me..this means:
How do I (not others) create a portable launcher?
How many ways are there and what tools (software) are necessary?

Joby Toss is expert than me and I like to read their comments.
Because I have planned to learn some programming in my spare time.
But still confused to choose between AutoIT or NSIS as I have no time to learn both of them.
But when I read this:
"...
-laptop
-beg author to change the way application works
..."
I smile because this is no related with our topic..he is kidding right?
And I smile as a friend..not as a comment shooter or not because I have no respect.
But of course I am ready to apologize to Joby Toss..just because I smile to him.

I was hoping for a smile when I wrote that but yet again, those really are two viable choices... No need for apologies here...

I know..laptop and the author itself are also viable choices.
Okay..thats my fault.

And here are my opinions.

- MS Batch File
- BartPE (Win XP PE)
- VistaPE (Win Vista PE)

- Ceedo (shareware)
- MojoPac (shareware)
- Prayaya (shareware)

- WinRAR (shareware) + MS Batch File.
Note : not clear about these..founded when searching at past time.
it seems like..all the prog files compressed into a single EXE WinRAR archieve.
when launch..all the files will auto-extract and running.
when exit/close..it will auto-compress back into a single EXE

Hmm..uhm..may I bring my smile back again?
I cant talking with people without smile..like a robot..just kidding.
WinRAR is not the slightest help when it comes to portabilization. It can break things, but never make them work.
You loose a lot of speed to gain almost nothing. There are far more suitable ways of reducing package size.

BTW I never met an app that repacked changed files to the archive. This can be done, but surely isn't common.

EDIT: Hmm...you deleted your post? Too late. :P
I'll leave this post because it's getting more common to "portabilize" by making self extracting archive. Wrong, wrong, wrong.

Hi , is there any way to compress counter strike 1.8---creates registry key.

And it`s 1.60Gb. The setup is 830Mb. :D Thanks for your previous help!

Can, if you know what you're doing. I've never seen a well done app that used it, so I guess it rarely happens.
And using it is pointless. If you really need to save the few more megs over upxing (I doubt it ever happens), use MoleBox or nBinder. They are about as strong and way faster, not much more expensive.

Reg keys and compression are 2 totally independent things.
They have to be dealt with separately. And yes, reg keys are not a problem.
