CoView 1.045

#1 Post by freakazoid »

Category: Graphics - Viewers

Synopsis: CoView allows you to read comics almost in any format: it supports special comic file types such as CBR and CBZ, but also images stored in archives or simply saved in folders. You can browse through them and read just like you turn the pages of a real comic. Plus, with the zoom tool you won't miss a single detail of the drawings, and the bookmark tool will enable you to continue your reading just where you left it.

Writes settings to: None. (Does it write to the registry?)

How to extract: Download "CoView_portable.exe" to a folder of your choosing. Launch "CoView_portable.exe".

Stealth: Yes ?

License: Freeware

System Requirements: Win95 / Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP / Vista

Website: http://www.telefonica.net/web2/webinfom ... ew.en.html

Download: 375kb

---

Another comic book viewer program that I found linked from Wikipedia.
Is this stealth?

It does not write to the registry, it does not save any settings, it looks very nice but I couldn't change the language from Spanish (the menu commands are easy to understand though) .

Pressing "i" changes the language.

Would be nice if the portable version saved the settings like bookmarks and language setting.

Not sure if the regular install version saves settings to the apps folder... something worth looking into.

New version 1.048 available.
Language is defaulted to English in this version.

I've added the entry to TPFC, vote it up if you like it!

I dont see much differance in the two versions (installed vs. portable )
Its pretty slick in appearance the only draw back I have seen is there is no support for
password protected files (it just wont open them) and mine doesnt have a windowed mode..just the full screen.
Of course I havent tried this new version tho.

Still its pretty nice. :)

I believe the installed version saves settings (haven't checked if it's stealth though), portable one doesn't save anything (haven't tested this functionality in the new version, but I'm pretty sure it doesn't save).

It's a full-screen app AFAIK.

I believe Napiophelios may mean the ability to view two pages at once :?: ????

Many comic viewers, and e-book readers allow for viewing two pages at once (paperback mode?), and on some comics both pages are treated as one big page sometimes (not common).

Hit the number 8 to view with two pages.

F1 shows you all the commands.
