Re: Firefox Portable

What kills me is the removal of RSS and Live Bookmarks apparently because 99.9% of people don't dont use or know of its existence... I'm the .1 percent. https://www.ghacks.net/2018/07/25/mozilla-plans-to-remove-rss-feed-reader-and-live-bookmarks-support-from-firefox/ https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/sho...

Re: WizFile

Try starting the program with no drives selected. both x32 and x64 gives me 5.4MB memory usage. Then add drives to scan while its running. I added Drive C and both x32 and x64 increase the same amount of 138MB. Oddly not much of a difference on my end. Either way, the memory usage is actually small ...

Re: WizFile

Just using a lot of memory doesn't mean its a memory leak. That's not what a memory leak is. From what I tested, it seems like it just seems the amount of memory it uses depends on the number of files it scans. If I deselect all my drives from being scanned then it shrinks to about 100MB usage. If I...

Re: Best Player for MadVR Codec

Well FFDshow isn't a standalone program. Portablizing it doesn't really make sense since it needs other media players to be useful. Also development on it has been abandoned and no one uses it for its decoding feature anymore since its extremely outdated and is used mostly just for its post-processi...

Re: Best Player for MadVR Codec

I'm just an anime enthusiast. The fansub scene just led me to know more about media players and codecs over the years. Not sure what Kai Media Player is but theres KMPlayer and PotPlayer which I think as far as random bits of info out there use stolen MPC-HC code. There's also Light Alloy http://lig...

Re: Best Player for MadVR Codec

Use it with MPC-HC. It fully supports it, its portable and you can kinda make it more portable together without having to register madvr to your system. Manually add madvr to MPC-HC external filters and adjust path to madvr.ax in mpc-hc.ini to something like Path=madVR\madVR.ax . After tweaking any ...

Re: qBittorrent

and does somebody deeply tested it ? does it spread files ? thanks He means it will still use standard windows AppData directories for settings when you associate and open torrent files and magnet links. At least thats how it should work if not in portable mode. But In my case, it actually decided ...

Re: Media Player Classic Home Cinema

Actually mpc-be is updated almost everyday The last commit was just a couple hours ago. https://sourceforge.net/p/mpcbe/activity The nightly builds are pretty much stable. There isn't really a point on waiting for release builds for this project. If you want the latest one, just get the nightly. At ...

Re: Waterfox - unofficial 64-bit version of Firefox

Still, I *need* DownThemAll so I'll test it sometime soon. Work on a downthemall web ext is in the works https://www.downthemall.net/progress/ As much as I like Firefox 57, I like my addons better. I'm gonna stay with FF56 and probably migrate to Waterfox until Firefox 57+ onward has more suitable ...

Re: Windows 9 is... Windows 10

I liked Windows 8 Start Screen Tiles system before so naturally I like Windows 10 since its much better in everything EXCEPT the Start Menu search. It somehow has an inferior to Win8/7 start menu search. I couldn't figure out why it can't find my pinned start menu tiles shortcuts and I tried every f...

Re: qBittorrent

So is extract process for qbittorrent (when not using the PA version) as follows? 1. Download executable and extract using 7zip 2. Launch qbittorrent.exe --profile=profile Optionally delete $PLUGINSDIR I guess so. At least until --relative-fastresume bug is fixed then we can use --portable. Maybe? ...

Re: Portable Torrent Client with uTorrent

The installer is a 7-zip archive. Extract with 7-zip or UniExtract. "Carrier.exe" is what we want. Rename it to uTorrent.exe. The other files are just installer junk.

Re: qBittorrent

I encountered this bug with --portable https://github.com/qbittorrent/qBittorrent/issues/7765 I get I/O errors for downloaded files after I quit qbittorrent and restart it. This only happens with files saved in the same drive letter where the qbittorrent profile resides. Example: Profile directory i...
