Great find, smaragdus. :cool:

Scroll, Quill & INK is yet another Python based specialized editor. By the looks of the GitHub repo, it seems to have been rescued at some time in the past from the Google Code debacle. It doesn't provide many options and is a little rough around the edges, but it has a lot of promise.

- There's no preview, i.e, notes have to be saved and left before the Markdown is converted to HTML.
- There's no help whatsoever, you'll have to refer to Markdown for editing guidance, but it's hit and miss for program features (e.g., tags have to be separated with semi-colons, otherwise the whole field content will be assumed).
- It's a matter of taste but, in my book, that brown paper background comes out too much on the puerile side.
- OTOH, notes are saved to a 'resources' sub-folder inside the program folder and although they're in a sqlite file (in the 'notes' sub-folder), things like the paper background image ('note-background-600x600.jpg' in the 'images' sub-folder) and the HTML style ('note.css' in the 'styles' sub-folder) reside there and can possibly be changed to users' whim (untested!).

@Midas
Thanks for your insightful post, all your points are valid. Yes, you are right, Scroll, Quill & INK was originally hosted at Google Code (https://code.google.com/p/ck-sqink/- now this page redirects to GitGub).
Scroll, Quill & INK was in my submission list for quite some time and its appearance at Softpedia reminded me about it. Once I tested it briefly and created a preliminary list of suggestions but I haven't contacted the developer because I am afraid the program is not actively developed any more. If you decide to write to Mr Julio Francisco Veronelli feel free to include some of my ideas if you find any of them useful.
