NOT RECOMMENDED !!!
The first system crash I've ever had running Vista.
For any future submissions ... I don't know about others but I like a reference to the Home Site.

Re: emdkplayer
I tried it (Win XP Home SP3) without problems. Looks interesting although the graphics could be improved a bit. It is customizable by manipulating the ini file.
It was clearly stated in the system requirements that the required OS is WinXP. There should have been a warning that the software was developed for and tested only on WinXP and not Vista, but only because it doesn't work on Vista the prog could still be interesting for XP users.
Not every software developer has an own home page and the existence of a home site is no guarantee for anything.
My recommendation for XP users: Take a look at it with the necessary precautions.
My recommendation for Vista users: If you try it, you may experience the same problem which JohnW had.
Conclusion: Neither a general OK nor a general "stay away".

Re: emdkplayer
I dont have a homepage, so sorry
But a friend had vista and it runs ok there, but no icons for the player, an no systemtry icon
But added files did have a icon.
no way to test it in vista myself
fileassociations is off by default you have to edit the ini for it
there are a lot of associations in the ini so you get the idee
Generaly its as safe as the launcher from portableapps.com
and graphics can be edited in the file theme.icl
it is a Icon Library
you can edit it with @icon sushi http://www.towofu.net/soft/e-index.php

Re: emdkplayer
Please try on vista and report back.
the problem was seposed to be a incompatible iconlibrary, eg theme.icl and drives.icl
system crach, coincidence ??
Solution was, save iclfile with microangelo
now writing logfile to check

so no icons , posibleHi, everyone.
I've just found strange issue in Windows Vista RC1:
I am trying to load any *.icl file and this is not possible. There is always strange behaviours.
Everything depends on calling application type:
* graphic applications gives error with "corrupted file" message when I try to load *.icl file
* other applications gives empty display for icons loaded from library (e.g. try to make shortcut with Your icon hidden in ICL) or just shows information that ICL file does not contain any icon
* icon editors see no icons in *icl file (even if this file has been created just few seconds ago in the same application).
There is nothing wrong with taking icons from *exe files. There is nothing wrong with tested ICL files (works under WinXP).
