Remove Empty Directories (RED)

Submit portable freeware that you find here. It helps if you include information like description, extraction instruction, Unicode support, whether it writes to the registry, and so on.

Remove Empty Directories (RED)

#1 Post by TP109 »

Searches and deletes empty directories recursively below a given start folder. Let's you check all empty directories before deleting them. Supports multiple delete modes (including Delete to recycle bin). Allows white and black listing of directories by using filter lists. Can detect directories with empty files as empty.

Thanks Checker,

I checked the database and it wasn't listed. However, I should have also checked the forums. Anyway, I have found this program useful. The current version, ver 2.2, is listed as portable on the website. I'm unsure whether a portable version existed in 2008 when it was submitted by Baas.

I don't think so.

Why would anyone use .NET to write a directory deletion app?? I have a command line app that does the same thing (RMEmpty), it's 37kB.

On Win7x64 it seems to leave a folder in AppData/Local.

"Remove_Empty_Directories" folder is left in LocalAppdata on WinXP SP2 too.

It does run here without .net 3.5, so it seems its not required.
