PDF Viewer for Windows 10

Let's start by noting that
PDF Viewer for Windows 10 (
PVWT) is fully backward compatible: I had no trouble running it in XP. Upon (
Uni)extracting you get a single executable (and rather basic) PDF viewer that doesn't seem to save settings anywhere (unless you choose "
Set as default PDF Reader" under the "
Tools" menu).

Download latest
PVWT (currently v1.02) from

For lack of better option, the present one is now
Cool PDF Reader (

Oh good, thanks! I don't feel alone anymore in this thread and don't feel like I'm some kind or weirdo using this apps everyday anymore. Lol

I care.
Definitely. PDF Viewers that are better than Adobe are always on my radar. I haven't seen any other places covering PDF-XChange for example and that program radically changed how I work.

This program is now listed as free for personal use only and has an annoying animated banner on v.3.1.6.308. Also, the advertised crop tool doesn't appear to work. Does anyone have a copy of the non-banner version?

Besides the very annoying banner it also has a very annoying behaviour on exit:
The GUI is nice but the banner and the exit prompt make it useless for me.

I didn't notice that, thanks. I'll add a note to the entry.

So it turns out this is just an undeclared rebranding of a program already in the database with the same features and problems.

If you just look at forum screenshots from
Midas and
smaragdus you'll see they're the same. That's frustrating. Merging threads.
