[JPE Tips] File System Excludes,Includes,Ignores with GUI

#1 Post by crownixx »

Hard to remember the JPE number for special folder you want to exclude, include or ignore or feel lazy to do reference in the readme.html? There is a gui that can help us out but it is hidden and need a little trick to obtain the result.

1. Run JPELauncher.exe that is located in "Toolbox\Launcher". You can also run JPE Launcher through JauntePE suite but later on the we also need to access the "Toolbox\Launcher" folder
2. Click on Settings>File System>Exception. That is the GUI that help us with Excludes,Includes and Ignores the File System.

3. Click the required tab for example Excludes, then click Add>Special file folder paths. Click OK after the selection of needed special folder
4. Repeat the procedure 3 to add more than one special folder.
5. When you are done, click OK button for JauntePE settings box and exit JauntePELauncher.exe. This is required since JauntePE Launcher will only save the change settings after it quit.
6. In folder "Toolbox\Launcher", you will find "JauntePE_jauntePE.ini". Open the file and you can see the File System Excludes,Includes,Ignores settings that previously you made. Copy & paste the settings to your application Runtime ini.

Hope this tips help. Happy JauntePE'ing =)

I discover another simple way from the above trick. Assuming your config file is in the same directory of your launcher. For example below
#7-Zip Portable.exe (jauntePE portable launcher)
#7-Zip Portable_jauntePE.ini (jauntePE config file)

The steps are
1. Run JPELauncher.exe. Drag-and-drop 7-Zip Portable.exe (portable launcher) into the launcpad. It's Item Properties windows will be pop up
2. Select File System>Exceptions. It will show the exclude, include and ignore that contain in the 7-Zip Portable_jauntePE.ini (config file)

3. When you're done making the changes, quit the Item Properties windows and the JPElauncher properly. The changes will be saved directly to the 7-Zip Portable_jauntePE.ini

It should be more quicker from previous trick. You can also do the trick with Registry Exceptions, Modules, ChildApps and Hooks
