I searched for a tool that compares two text files.
Maybe usefull for others too.
Main features:
customizable color highlighting of differences
drag and drop enabled
accepts commandline parameters for file and folder comparisons

Folder compares:
double click modified (green) files to view file differences

File compares:
a very fast compare algorithm
blank characters and case can be ignored during a compare operation
easy navigation between differences
easy two-way merging
in-place text editing
search and replace text
multiple undo/redo of text changes
generates a report of file differences
Freeware with full source code
Looks portable to me, but i´m not sure.

I cant believe this little app isnt in the database.
I think its just as good as UltraCompare
and it writes its settings to an ini file. :)

4.6 version?
The DB_entry is now at version 4.6. but I can't see that anywhere else.
The Webpage still says 4.5 and the downloaded zip looks like 4.5... ? ? ?

LOL
Thanks I_am_Baas - I've been running exactly that version since August 2010
It came from a site saying 4.5, the exe says 4.5 but sure enough you are right - The Help>About says 4.6
So no new version, I can stop scratching.

BTW, you could find that info on the developer's Website too... go to http://www.angusj.com/delphi/ and scroll down the page to the TDiff bit.

I admit I was taken back by this update. I've been using this for 3 years and thought the DB entry was up to date but then checked the About box (as screamy man did) and I was shocked that it hadn't been updated.
