Homepage: http://www.romeolight.com/
Includes:
Image optimisation - JPEGmicro, PNGmicro, GIFmicro (à la RIOT, Caesium, PngOptimiser)
Image conversion/resizing - PhotoResizer, BPGconv, WebPconv
Colour picking (geared toward web design) - CP1
Web code optimisation - HTMLminify, Scripttm (formerly WebMini?)
(Lightway is a music utility intended to be used with installed iTunes, so not included here)
Portability: NOT fully tested, but settings stored in "Romeolight AppName_X.X.X.X.config" files within app folder. They might depend on .NET, but I'm not sure. Perhaps someone can confirm this.
Briefly tried out a few of the image utilities, like JPEGmicro, and I'm impressed. The apps themselves have a uniformly modern style, and, in the case of JPEGmicro, work very well. It was also interesting to learn of the BPG and WebP formats.
Some screencaps:
I checked those optimised images afterwards and there was hardly a difference visually. This might just be better than RIOT

From PNGmicro 'readme.txt': "To launch this application, you need Microsoft(R).NetFrameWork 3.5 and over.".
Also:
And BTW PNGmicro apparently failed (it stayed on "optimizing stage 2" for a couple of minutes, until I closed it) with the image above...

Re: Romeolight utilities - web and image optimisation/conver
Hmm, strange. Just tested out some large- and medium-sized PNGs in PNGmicro with no hiccups.Midas wrote:And BTW PNGmicro apparently failed (it stayed on "optimizing stage 2" for a couple of minutes, until I closed it) with the image above... [/list]
Maybe it's something on your side?
Re: Romeolight utilities - web and image optimisation/conver
dlls in JPEGmicro program folder are actually exes that the main program executes to optimize jpeg files. I wonder why developer(s) chose to rename them like this. I was also unable to find a way to remove a file from list.
Re: Romeolight utilities - web and image optimisation/conver
Anyone looked at how the PNG optimization compares to existing tools PngOptimizer and FileOptimizer?
I liked the VirusTotal button on the website:
More people should do that. Maybe I have to start doing that.
