The site was down for at least 2 hours last night (for my timezone) due to an unplanned network outage at the host.
I say "at least" because I was too tired and had to go to bed, but when I checked later in the morning, the server was up again.

Do you have an account with UptimeRobot? You should use that to monitor any downtime.

I could, but 99% of the time, it's a host disruption, and there's nothing I can do about it.
I am not under the illusion if I start screaming at support, it'd somehow speed things up

It was daytime over here, got a 404 and... left my checking for another day.
