mpv.net is a media player based on mpv. It's a highly advanced and extremely configurable player that targets power users. Unlike similar tools, the program uses FFmpeg for decoding instead of relying on DirectShow or Media Foundation. mpv.net adds a modern GUI on top of mpv but retains mpv's command line support.
mpv has OpenGL video output with support for several video scaling algorithms, color management, interpolation, HDR, D3D11VA and DXVA2 hardware video decoding, and more.

The player doesn't seem to have a stop button, which is both strange and inconvenient.

Indeed, no skin displays the Stop button and that is indeed strange because there is a shortcut (default Alt+Q) for that action. |

Many new changes in the latest version of MPC-HC as jazzruby said. They even changed the exe name! I propose MPC-HC has its own entry now.

If I am correct, creating an .ini file in the application folder with the same name as the .exe file (eg. mpc-hc.ini or mpc-hc64.ini) and with the first line reading [Settings] will make the application portable. All settings will be written to the ini file and default.mpcpl in the application folder. This will prevent settings to be written to the registry or to the %appdata% folder. |

This is a great piece of software, but with one major flaw: it can't cope with https. If the feed has an https url, it won't read it. If the feed is http, but the enclosures are https, it won't download them. If anyone knows of a workaround for this, I'd love to hear it. |
