Re: WikidPad V1.9
The download links have changed as well.
Here's the new download page.

Re: *WikidPad V1.9
Tested and definitely portable, though not stealth. Creates C:\Documents and Settings\USER\Local Settings\Temp\comtypes_cache\WikidPad-26
I loathe that it uses CamelCase tho. I hope the authors switch to or somehow enable MediaWiki format.

Re: *WikidPad V1.9
Can someone confirm if the following steps are correct for v 2.1?
1) Download the installer and extract using Universal Extractor, choosing Not an InstallShield installer when prompted.
2) Move the content of the {app} folder to a folder of your choise.
3) Launch the program by double-clicking on WikidPad.exe. Confirm, under Help | About, scrolling the shown text to the end, that a file called WikidPad.config and a folder called WikidPadGlobals are placed in the application folder.
4) If not, close the program and, from the configuration folder, move the file called WikidPad.config and the folder called WikidPadGlobals to the folder where WikidPad.exe resides.
Re: *WikidPad V1.9
Not necessary. Just run the installer and choose portable installation. Install to a folder that does not require admin rights.lautrepay wrote:Can someone confirm if the following steps are correct for v 2.1?1) Download the installer and extract using Universal Extractor, choosing Not an InstallShield installer when prompted.

WikiPad 2.1 is portable. The only thing written outside the application directory is to a temp folder (appdata\local\temp\comtypes_cache\WikidPad-26).
Re: *WikidPad V1.9
Thanks, I am Baas. Entry updated.
Since it writes to an official temp folder, I consider it is stealh. If someone has a different opinion, please post here or edit the entry.

Re: WikidPad
Just came across this remark... Don't know if you've solved it already but just for the record, WikidPad CamelCase detection can be disabled either on a particular wikipage or globally by setting the following attribute [camelCaseWordsEnabled: false] (prepend global. to this to disable in all wikipages)...webfork wrote:I loathe that it uses CamelCase tho. BTW, current stable is at version 2.1.

Re: *WikidPad V1.9
Cool, thanks for pointing that out. There are some places that still use CamelCase but largely it's been pushed aside in favor of other formats. I'm obviously very happy about that but, just like CamelCase fans, I'm disappointed my wiki format of choice hasn't become the standard either.Midas wrote:Just came across this remark... Re: WikidPad syntax modification
If you know enough Python or are willing to dwell on its inner workings, I believe wikidPad can be made to abide by any format you wish. Michael Butscher, the current developer, even stated MediaWiki as one of his goals: http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/wiki ... ssage/6991webfork wrote:I'm disappointed my wiki format of choice hasn't become the standard either.
User scripts listed at http://trac.wikidpad2.webfactional.com/ ... serScripts include similar modifications such as WikidpadInterWiki -- although CREOLE isn't available (yet?); WikidPadGlobals might be useful too. But to start, read the (minimal) instructions at http://trac.wikidpad2.webfactional.com/ ... Language20.
@guinness: please remove "V1.9" from the topic subject, for making easier to detect this as a general wikidPad discussion...
