CCTime is a utility to help track how much time you spend on different tasks during your work day. Tracking time is tedious, so focus lies on simplicity and automation. CCTime stays out of your way while still being readily accessible, so you can focus on actual work. CC is short for Click Click, because two clicks is all it takes to register time on a task!
CCTime sits in your system tray and automatically hides when not in use. You can see how much time you've spent in total each day, and how much of that time has not yet been assigned to tasks. For each week you can get a report, summarizing your work that week.
CC Time is free, open source software. Source code is available at GitHub.

Password Security Scanner audits security information about stored passwords without displaying the password itself. Includes the total number of characters: numeric, lowercase/uppercase and repeating, as well as a rating of overall password strength. Can help determine whether the passwords used by other users are secured enough, without knowing or watching their actual passwords. Great for administrators concerned about security concerns caused by their users.
Currently scans the passwords of Internet Explorer, Mozilla-based Web browsers, Pale Moon, Mozilla Thunderbird, Chromium-based Web browsers, Dialup/VPN passwords, MSN/Windows Messenger, Microsoft Outlook, Windows Live Mail, Windows Credentials Passwords.

All programs that claim to do password auditing should work this way. Admins don't need to know the actual password, just if its complex enough.

@webfork, any software that can find out about how many numbers, upper case letters, lower case letters, symbols, punctuation characters, and length of a password, like Password Security Scanner, could be exploited to reveal the actual password itself. These kind of programs are very dangerous in that respect. That's why I'll never use Password Security Scanner.

@Mixture: bear in mind no system is ever 100% secure. Given enough resources, time and/or cunning a savvy hacker can get all your digital secrets. Your best bet is common sense, unrelenting vigilance and the help of stuff like the database at https://haveibeenpwned.com/ ... |
Disk Thruput Tester (DiskTT) is a benchmarking tool analyzing the throughput of any disk. This is important because your actual disk performance is determined, not only by the speed of your hard drive as measured by most disk benchmarks, but also by the main board chipset, AHCI/UDMA/PIO mode, RAID configuration, CPU speed, RAM size, and the quality of drivers.
The program measures sequential read/write and random access speeds in megabytes/sec. You can set the size of the test file, the folder on the target disk to which test data will be written, cache settings, etc. Existing data on the target disk is not affected.

Changes up to v2.10 release 16 - Changed: get true free RAM on x64 systems. - New: added the read/write mode to the random access test. The random read/write test alternates between read and write after each seek, so 5% of the file is randomly read and another 5% is randomly altered. - Changed: increased the possible block size up to 100MB (99999KB); expect a write error on XP and older when using a >64MB blocksize. Changes up to v2.02 release 15 - Reduced the number of random reads to 10%. - Fixed freeze of progress bar updates and resulting 'program not responding' messages under Vista/7.Changes up to v2.02 release 15 - Reduced the number of random reads to 10%. - Fixed freeze of progress bar updates and resulting 'program not responding' messages under Vista/7. - Set programs priority to 'high' as an effort to minimize reported differences between measurements (if effective at all). |
Portable WinCDEmu allows users to make one or more DVD or CD image files appear to the system as an actual disk. This is useful for programs that require access to an external drive, to speed up the access time of read-only media or to connect multiple discs to one computer simultaneously.
The program supports a variety of image file types including ISO, CUE, IMG, BIN, NRG, MDF/MDS, CCD and RAW formats, as well as both 32 and 64-bit computers.

H2testw allows you to test storage devices for one of a variety of possible defects or errors. It is particularly useful for detecting mislabeled / fake flash memory devices, looking at the actual versus reported capacity.
Note that the author recommends backing up the content on the device before running H2testw.

XOR+ is a text cipher application meant for entertainment / educational purposes. It enciphers and deciphers text using a simple XOR cipher, followed by multiple transposition, homophonic substitution and obfuscation steps.
This program is not intended to perform any actual security function. XOR+ is a modern variant of the decoder rings that used to come in cereal boxes: fun and not to be taken seriously.

Bincsoft Bitrate Calculator, or BBC, is a program that calculates the bitrate to use when encoding a video file to VCD, SVCD, DivX, XviD, DVD and lots of other formats. (Note that it calculates based on a constant bitrate, and does not do the actual video conversion itself.)

DVD Identifier retrieves and interprets the pre-recorded information that is present on DVD and Blu-ray media. This information contains a variety of parameters such as disc manufacturing information and supported write speeds. Even though this information is usually printed on the packaging, the brand name may differ from the actual manufacturer or sometimes there might not even be any packaging information at all.

This not work out with UniExtractor and yes not portable !! |
CyberShredder is an easy to use, drag-and-drop way to delete files and folders from your computer permanently. While normal file deletion remove a file's directory entry and allocation table information, the actual disk clusters that contained the file's data remains intact on your hard disk and can be recovered. CyberShredder overwrites the space occupied from a file with random data and then erases the file, so recovery tools cannot recover it.
Although the "very quick" shred should be more than adequate for most users, there are multi-pass methods available that overwrite the file multiple times.
Warning: Some users have reported issues when wiping directories with non-English characters in them.

A possible portable alternative (untested!) is Quick Erase -- see http://www.softpedia.com/get/Security/Secure-cleaning/Quick-Erase.shtml.

I had precisely the same issue as hamasaki above - tried to drag and drop a folder that contained asian characters in its name and, to my horror, found Cybershredder began a rampage through a completely unrelated area of my hard drive. |
Sumotori Dreams is more of an exercise in creating self-balancing characters than it is an actual game, but the utter hilarity involved makes this little gem worth keeping. While it offers little to no gameplay value it delivers something no other game can: a physics simulation of two incredibly drunk people shoving each other and trying to stand up after falling over countless times.
Note: Official version has gone payware. Linking to last freeware version.
