PathSync synchronizes the contents of two directories. You can choose to synchronize unidirectionally (local to remote, or remote to local), or bidirectionally. Various synchronization options are available, including files to ignore and filename mask. It also provides nifty statistics during the synchronization, so that the user is never wondering how much time is left.

My only issue with this program is for some reason now it keeps making these "PSYN_TMP" files for most of the files I'm syncing, effectively doubling the size of the folder. Also some of the original files seem to be corrupted afterwards. Any idea why it's doing this & how to stop it?
V0.35
How does the PathSync compare the files? Are their hashes/content compared? What happens when Ignore files size/dates are on? Cheers.
Path Synch 0.35 is outstanding. I have a external disk drive, 550 GB USB, for backing up my data files. (For convenience, all data folders/files are in a single master folder). I periodically run Path Synch to mirror the master folder's contents onto the external disk, using the "Local->Remote" option. Backing up data files has never been so painless! Path Synch is robust and fast. The "Analysis" report is comprehensive yet straightforward. And only 108 KB for the program and support files.
I previously used Unison (very long to analyse), SyncExpert (very long for transfer), SyncBack (not free) and DeltaCopy (nightmare to setup even if I'm a geek). PathSync is now my choice.
This is supreme! I don't want extras, all I want to be able to do is copy stuff from one HDD to another, and I don't want to copy the entire 500GB folder, just the stuff I've changed! And PathSync allows me to do just that, with total control! No frills and fancy features...at all!
Ditto. DSynchronize is fantastic: http://www.portablefreeware.com/?id=719
TT: I agree. DSychronize is robust, easy and quite fast. It's the best I've used...
Nice, but I've found DSychronize to be more powerful and even easier to use. Anyone concur?
Very very fast comparison of directories. There is a new version released 9/01/07
PathSync v0.4 BETA (3/6/10) available. Tested portable.
