HamMultiPlayer displays one or more media files for analysis in real time. It can be used to find, move, delete or preview any video/audio file. The program can scan drives and directories, and then sort a generated list. Intended primarily to help videographers look through lots of footage, the program can also make it easy to find and eliminate duplicated or similar files.
The program uses Mplayer and MediaInfo Library to decode and display files, playing everything Mplayer can play.
Functional in 64-bit and supports multiple monitors.

Hi Kanu,

Sorry if I sounded hostile but the web says 'This is a "portable" software, this means that everything is already included inside the ".exe" (no installation, no registry keys, ...)'.

@Kanu: Different sites have different definitions for portable but here "Stealth" is the term used when a program doesn't modify files outside of it's application folder (including the registry). HamMultiPlayer is not stealth but is portable. Please post in forums if you'd like to discuss further. |

Many new changes in the latest version of MPC-HC as jazzruby said. They even changed the exe name! I propose MPC-HC has its own entry now.

If I am correct, creating an .ini file in the application folder with the same name as the .exe file (eg. mpc-hc.ini or mpc-hc64.ini) and with the first line reading [Settings] will make the application portable. All settings will be written to the ini file and default.mpcpl in the application folder. This will prevent settings to be written to the registry or to the %appdata% folder. |

Anyone know how to install the "Mplayer extra package" listed above? |
rulesPlayer is a media player intended as an upgrade to MPUI, focused on speed, customization, and an improved interface. The program includes all of the extra MPlayer codecs, which should allow playing most audio+video files.
Category: | |
Runs on: | Win95 / Win98 / WinME / WinNT / Win2K / WinXP |
Writes settings to: | Application Folder |
Unicode support: | No |
License: | Open-Source |
How to extract: |
Method 1: If you don't have a copy of mplayer or you want to use a more updated version, download the rulesPlayer installer and install to the default folder. During installation, make sure Check for latest MPlayer version and download it is selected. For codecs, select Download essential codecs. After installation, copy all files except src and rulesuninstall.exe to a folder of your choice. Finally, uninstall the program. Method 2: Download the ZIP package for rulesPlayer and extract to a folder of your choice. Place a copy of mplayer and its codecs in a subfolder called mplayer under that folder. Launch player.exe. |

Since rulesPlayer and SMPlayer are essentially the same thing, how do they compare to each other, what's different (besides the interface), which is more feature filled and stable? |
MPUI is a graphical frontend for MPlayer, a cross-platform media decoder that plays hundreds of different video and audio formats, including DVD and DivX, without additional codecs. It includes support for multiple audio/subtitle tracks, keyboard navigation and OSD. Important settings such as aspect ratio, deinterlacing and postprocessing can be configured via the GUI interface.
Note: The version of MPlayer packaged with MPUI may not be the latest and does not contain the complete list of codecs. You may want to head to the MPlayer website and download the most recent MPlayer EXE and codecs, then unzip them to the MPUI folder.
