Folderico allows you to change the default icon of any folder. It performs this feat by creating a desktop.ini file in the chosen folder that points to the desired icon (also automatically created) so that Windows Explorer will render the folder icon differently. Folderico does not need to be running for the new folder icon to be displayed, and the changes are sticky even when the hard disk or memory stick is plugged into another machine.

Ghost-It! is a program that runs in the system tray, and lets you turn windows into "ghost" windows. Ghost windows are translucent and will always appear on top of other windows, even when it loses the input focus.

FolderIcons helps you customize the icons of your file system's folders. It works by simply adding a desktop.ini file in a folder, then changes the folder's attributes. However, FolderIcons makes this process very easy. You can undo your changes, or recursively assign the same icon to a whole folder tree.

Does anyone know of a utility that can colour label files instead of only folders? This feature is default on Mac computers, and there *must* be something like it for Win as well - but I haven't yet found it.

If you want to make this Permanent, put the icon itself into the folder that you are changing! In other words copy and paste the icon into the folder and then run the program and point to this icon as the one that you want to change the folder icon to. This way if you change a folder icon that is on a USB to something different and you plug into a different computer the changed icon will show. |

CursorUS is a small application that eliminates the boundaries of your screen in the same way that many games do: they "wrap" the mouse over. In other words, move your mouse past the left side of your screen and it'll appear on the right side. Takes plenty getting used to but can be pretty handy. It is very customizable as well.

Don't use this in a multi-monitor environment. When you move your mouse to you 2nd monitor, it wraps & you can't get to it! It's also a major pain to get your task bar to pop-up if you have it on auto-hide. Other then that, it's a cool app.

Wow, this really is a nice app. It let's you really FEEL how small your screen actually is (or how big, if you've got a big screen :')). But that's not a bad thing, because with this app, there are no boundaries around that small screen.

ABC Amber LIT Converter converts Microsoft Reader's LIT files to a variety of output formats (PDF, HTML, CHM, RTF, HLP, DOC etc.) The software also supports a batch conversion and command line parameters. Note that some of the output formats have dependencies on external applications eg. CHM requires Microsoft HTML Help Workshop etc., but others eg. PDF, HTML do not.
Reportedly functional in Linux using WINE.

Crypditor is a tabbed text editor that encrypts what you write. I recommend updating to the 2.0.0.0 Beta and hosting it instead, specifically If I am not misinformed this just edits a single registry key (different Reg key for each new Windows OS) and thus is just a simple 1 key Reg editor. |
