The referred site does not mention anything about its portability. Makes me wary of unexpected surprises if put on a thumb drive. Any assurance (please!)

A Pretty good, basic editor, doesn't handle images but if you need an RTF editor this one's o.k.
Don't expect too much and make sure you download the utilities.

Media Tagger v1.3.5

Midas on 1 Aug 2022

  • Released on 22 Feb 2004
  • Suggested by Ram C. Dutta

Media Tagger is an MP3 tag editor that supports synchronization between ID3v1 with ID3v2 tags, renaming the files according to the tag or vice versa, creating a WinAMP playlist, or exporting to a CSV or HTML file listing. It also supports tagging via the FreeDB database.

The application website appears to be down -- link changed to Wayback Machine -- so I am making the most recent version available for direct download.

Finally, an MP3 Tagger that will autonumber Track numbers.
Many MP3 players sort by track number, and if you are doing sequential podcasts or other downloaded stuff, the track numbers are often non-existent, and they play out of order.
I have used a dozen or so other taggers and so far must change each tag one by one, and often each one requiring multiple mouseclicks or keystrokes.
