Move Aside Please lets you set a window to stay on top of all others but move out of the way (or go transparent) if you hover the mouse cursor over it. This is ideal for monitoring tools, "post-it"-style notes, and news feeds that you need always visible but not blocking.

Perhaps the site is only temporarily offline, Google still shows it in their search results. |
WinSplit Revolution allows you to easily organize windows by tiling, resizing and positioning them to make the best use of your desktop real estate. The program is especially useful for larger resolution screens by helping you efficiently manage multiple active windows. The program allows users to move windows and have them snap into pre-defined areas such as 1/2 or 1/4 of the screen using simple keyboard hotkeys.
Functional on 64-bit.
Note that the program is no longer in development -- linking to archive.org and softpedia mirrors.

Although the method of creating a predefined area is very good, I prefer the usability of Gridmove (mainly the mouse control with trigger locations) I think that either the author of winsplit needs to try adding mouse control, like gridmove, or the author of gridmove needs to make the creation of grids simpler, like winsplit.

After using the various tools in Win 7 that handle window position, I got very homesick for this great tool. Even better, it works right alongside Win 7's tool set. Awesome. |
TrayEverything shows a list of currently opened programs with their associated windows and allow you to either hide any of the windows, or minimize them to the system tray. You can also assign a password when you hide/minimize a window so that only someone who knows the password can bring the window back into view.

The installer can be downloaded from Softpedia: |
allSnap is a small system tray app that makes all top level windows automatically align like they do in programs such as Winamp or Photoshop. Hold down ALT to disable snapping.
Note: Doesn't work with floating toolbars, programs that already have this functionality (Winamp), Microsoft Office 2007, and the Command window (cmd.exe).

This is one of the most useful tiny helpers EVER!! I love the tool, i strongly recommend it to everybody! I have spent months searching for something similar, and have even made an AutoHotkey-Script to help with clean windowpositioning, but finally, the quest is over ;) |
Window List is a really tiny developer tool that displays a list of all system windows, including all visible and hidden windows, and their components. Some of the properties can be changed. Windows can be shown/hidden, disabled/enabled or placed permanently 'on top' of all other windows.

neat idea... although it's maybe showing a little too much? lol, guess that might not be a bad thing, but the "on top" feature works, made notepad "on top" for a message to keep up while updating programs in the background that would always pop over before... worked great, can even close window list and it stays until notepad was closed... nice |
