Great program! I used to use JDiskReport, but I find the interface of this one nicer and more intuitive. You can see many levels (subdirectories, and their subdirectories) at the same time. Perfect for immediately getting an overview of what's taking up space on your hard drives.

Very nice, FAST and convenient program. Visualization is superb. |
Popcorn was (its homepage is only available via Internet Archive) a text-only email client with SMTP/POP3 support. It handles attachments, but does not render HTML emails or display inline images, which means it is immune to most HTML viruses/scripts/trojans. It supports multiple email accounts, SSL and APOP. It is useful for cleaning up POP accounts, removing spam, unwanted mail, large attachments etc.
Note: Developer has ended work on the project - linking to Archive.org entry (thanks Baas).

The identical problem that Andrew Lee is having is exhibited on my WinXP SP2 PC... Otherwise javascript and image features work well...

I emailed the author, and here's his reply: "I'm not sure what happened there. I've re-uploaded it to my website and it seems to be fine now." I have downloaded it again and it seems to be working fine too.

EncSpot Pro reports useful facts about your MP3 collection. It is able to guess which encoder was used to encode each file. It will also give you a general idea of the audio quality of the file. For files encoded with Lame, EncSpot can read the 'Lame Tag' and provide detailed information on the switches used when the file was encoded.
Note: EncSpot Pro is payware turned freeware. The author has discontinued development for the program, and has graciously decided to release the full version for free.

Unknown Devices, as the name suggests, helps you track down devices connected to your computer that the computer cannot identify. These are common with new or unusual hardware, and listed with yellow question marks in the Windows Device Manager. Working in concert with the Device Manager's own information, this program attempts to find out what exactly is connected computer.
Note: You may need physical access to your machine interior to get device numbers from you motherboard.
See our forum post on how to update the device lists.

This doesn't seem quite ready for prime time yet. The website claims you can change font colors - a good idea, since the default color on my XP machine is dark grey on black. But there doesn't seem to be any way to do this from the menu, and no documentation to help with that. |
