GAG: The only one I've tested is XP and Win7 so that's all I can directly speak to. I can't find anything on the Camstudio home page about support levels and even Softpedia disagrees.

Your X-CamStudio version 2.7.2 [rev5] page lists
System Requirements as WinNT / Win2K / WinXP
but I could not find the System Requirements at the
winpenpack.com X-CamStudio 2.7.2 [rev5] page.
CamStudio Portable 2.7.2 at The Portable Freeware Collection page
lists System Requirements as Windows XP/Vista/7/8
while the actual CamStudio home page lists
CamStudio version 2.7.2 (Build r326)as Compatible with
Windows XP, Vista and 7 ( although their Help page shows
CamStudio version 2.0 System Requirements were
Microsoft Windows 95, 98, Me, NT 4.0, 2000, XP)
Are these all just slightltly different versions,
or do the system requirements need to be updated on your page?

P.s. You may want to configure a button on each page to that toggles comments sorted newest, 1st on top so when they go to the page they see the most recent and probably pertinent comments 1st, and last at the end of the comments end, so it is seen when comments are posted.

The previous comment to mine from mid 2011 was answered as to the reason it was no longer being updated at that time, but if that is the only reason, I think the PortableApps.com Portable Software/USB format version of CamStudio can be made available again.

Is there a reason this has not been recently updated?
Currently, the latest version is up to CamStudio 2.6 (Build r294)in PortableApps.com Portable Software/USB format at http://portableapps.com/apps/utilities/camstudio_portable and I need to know if the most recent version has issues that make it unsatisfactory for your site before I try it.

It appears as though the main CamStudio website was hacked recently and download URLs were change to point to the hacked site.

If you downloaded recently (on or before July 26, 2011) you should read this:

Can't even get it to work anymore, it just says "Can't create avi file" regardless of codec chosen (even if set to record to swf)

It works with installed codecs, so you need to have a codec of some kind of quality installed on the system you are running it on (that could be their own lossless one)
Bigger problem is that it uses the avi container, so you can only record small bits, if the file grows bigger than 4gigabytes no programs can use them.
