Tux Paint v0.9.22

Tux Paint is a drawing program designed for young children (kids ages 3 and up). It has a simple, easy-to-use interface, fun sound effects, and an encouraging cartoon mascot who helps guide children as they use the program. It provides a blank canvas and a variety of drawing tools to promote creativity.

Alternatively, X-TuxPaint is also available.

How to extract:
  1. Download the ZIP package and extract to a folder of your choice
  2. Launch tuxpaint-config.exe
  3. Under the "Saving" tab, check "Use Alternative Saving Directory" and enter a single period (.) under "Alternative Saving Directory"
  4. Click "Apply" and then exit the program
  5. Move C:\Documents and Settings\[Username]\Application Data\TuxPaint\tuxpaint.cfg or C:\Users\[Username]\Application Data\TuxPaint\tuxpaint.cfg to the application folder
  6. Launch TuxPaint.exe
Optionally, you can also download the collection of rubber stamp images (and corresponding data and sound effects) for the "Stamp" tool and unzip them into the main folder.

Just unzip the folder then put the period in the alternative saving directory, then at the bottom left hand corner change settings from current user to all users. You don't have to move the .cfg file that way. It'll already be in the app folder.

This appears to be new behaviour in 0.9.16. In 0.9.14, it writes to the app folder by default. I will update the synopsis and the version number as well. Thanks!

By default, it writes its data to the windows user folders. The path can be changed with the configuration program - selecting an existing folder in the TuxPaint folder (without any slashes at the beginning). Then it is truly portable.

Btw - nice prog, not only for kids, loads fast and has most of the needed tools onboard :-)
