Splitter & Merger splits large files of any size into smaller ones and recombines them easily. It is able to compress files before splitting them, as well as generate self-extracting file sets.

About long.Knight comments: just split a 4,62MB .ISO file in 5 parts (auto-extract option) in 23 minutes. I used an old AMD Duron/1.01GHz, ASUS A7A266 MoBo, 384MB RAM, WinXP Pro SP3. Original file obtained from rejoined in 17 minutes, same machine.
N.B. the progress bar DOES freeze on large files splitting and merging.
it looks good but in trying to split a 4gb file it seemed to stall forever saying "calculating checksum". After 30 minutes of this I I used taskmanager to kill it... If it was still working it needs to show some kind of progress indicator... I went back to an old favorite (HJ Split) and things went smooth as ice.
S&M works fine on large files. Splitting a 19.70GB HDD image into 700MB chunks took 30'17" and 32'51" to rejoin, both with checksum, on an old AMD Athlon 64 3000+, ASUSTek K8V-XE MoBo, 2.0GB Single-Channel DDR @ 200MHz, and MS Windows XP Professional 32-bit SP3.
And I didn't stop any of my regular running tasks. Awesome for a 34KB tool!
