This is a terrible sudoku implementation.
Much better version can be found as part of "Simon Tatham's Portable Puzzle Collection":
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/puzzles/
All the games there are portable, and coded with great care.
BTW, Simon Tatham is better known as author of Putty.
Rarely if ever generates a sudoku with only one solution. I often arrive at a situation where there is no way to determine the remaining squares because of this.
I have not been able to duplicate the occurance... just a fluke I guess. On the other hand... I can't pry my laptop out of my wife's hands now! Sudoku Portable is incredibly addictive!
Hi! Tested with successful results. I used
Universal Extractor anyway...
Failed the portable test on my laptop on first run... it created a folder named .fltk in my user directory... this only occurs on the first launch and after the folder is deleted, subsequent runs use the app folder for data... Has anyone else observed this behavior?
It generates puzzles with several solutions.
This implementation is not a game based on reasoning, but on guessing that always works (of course because there is no unique solution) but after you have desperately tried to solve rationally the puzzle. Disappointing.
