Pretty niffy little program + very useful! |
NiftyWindows enhances basic window operations like dragging, resizing, maximizing, minimizing, closing and many others. You can use it to make a window always-on-top, roll it up to the title bar, adjust its transparency, resize it in various ways (snap-to-grid, percentage steps etc.), make window focus follow the mouse cursor etc. For more information, please check out the feature list.

Seems like a great idea. I had trouble getting it to work with my Cirque touchpad, though.

It looked interesting so I tried it out... abd ran into a problem. My system is set-up for mousing lefty but when I ran this program, it seemed to reverse the mouse buttons back to mousing righty. Unfortunately, that made it unuseable for me.

Some of the key combinations didn't seem to work for me. The window re-sizing was a really great feature but, using a laptop, I can't use the "numpad" features. I with the author had integrated some customization options so I could move them to other features. |
Poweroff enables you to schedule any of the following actions: shutdown, reboot, logoff, poweroff, standby, hibernate, lock, wake-on-LAN at a certain time. It contains a built-in scheduler and allows you to run another program before doing the action, issue a warning message, or wait for a process to finish before performing the action. Command-line options are also supported.

Only if you choose Service, Create Service, I think. Some programs contains functions that are not portable eg. create file association, add shell context menu, add system service etc. It is at your discretion not to activate them if portability is important to you!

Save electricity when you know how long a download or maintinence program is going to run. You can even set the computer to shut down / standby when a given program stops running.

I use this at work to schedule MyDefrag to run at a specific time and when it's done, the computer reboots. No waiting for the defrag to finish! I love this program. |

Sixteen is a puzzle game in which 16 squares on a grid contain numbered squares. Your move is to shift an entire row left or right, or shift an entire column up or down; every time you do that, the tile you shift off the grid re-appears at the other end of the same row, in the space you just vacated. To win, arrange the tiles into numerical order (1,2,3,4 on the top row, 13,14,15,16 on the bottom). When you've done that, try playing on different sizes of grid.
