Why this oldtimer suddently show up ?

TAudioConverter 0.9.6 (0.9.6 Build 3774) has been just released.

Hey, if you all use the installer, be careful! It has some very subtle "other" stuff bundled in there. Make sure you read every panel. "Other" stuff includes "Search Protect" and "Trovi Search" which changes your search pages and home pages. PUSH SKIP. There is another one that tries to install (but I can't get it to do it after cancelling the installation once) and you have to push "disagree" in order not to install it.

Installer do not contain ads as of version 0.9.7.

The website link for this one gives a 404 error, and the download link gives an error message saying a password is required.

The most recent blog entry on the website (dated Aug. 26th 2017) says:

"The below listed tools are no longer available as download on this website.

AD BulkCreator
TextCompare
ComboBox ApplicationLauncher

As of today, all information about these 3 tools is also no longer available on this website."

So unless there is an alternate download location for this app, I guess it's gone.

Doesn`t work half the time, keeps saying the epub file is corrupt. Yet, they open in Sumatra and just about any other epub viewer with no issues.

Anyone know security-wise if this is still worth using? It's now been more than two years without an update and I wonder what the risk to using it is, vs say Adobe Reader with its never-ending vulnerabilities.

@Specular: I think if you're asking a question like that, it's probably wise to use an updated viewer. There have been a few PDF vulnerabilities over the past year, but I think you have to enable various Adobe-only extras that I don't think STDU has in it's program.

If you are running a PALM the author wrote a neat Breakout style game. The Prison - Breakout-style game featuring a wide assortment of power-ups, special bricks, and other oddities. Also includes a board editor. Free software, released under the GNU GPL.

I was able to successfully convert a DOCX file to MOBI file for an Amazon Kindle device. All I really needed was the index and basic formatting preserved and that's what it did. Also images worked well. I'm very happy.

Just a warning - do not enable the 'Password Protect while in System Tray' option without also enabling the 'Minimise to Taskbar Tray' option as well. If you only enable the 'Password Protect' option, and you minimise the program to the Taskbar, when you restore the window, and then try and do anything, you will receive a crash that will likely corrupt your password database.

It's repeatable, and has been reported to the program author as a bug. If you have both options enabled, there is no problem. It is only when you have the password protect option enabled and the minimise option disabled that the problem occurs.
